It must be October because things sure are getting spooky for the Tap Truck Family and it’s about time we turn our engine over to our SPOOKtober Branch of the Month! Watch for those black cats, because this month we’re cruising the haunted streets of Northwest Ohio. Known for its natural beauty, strong community, and agricultural roots, this is the perfect region of Ohio for Tap Truck to deliver liquid treats, not tricks. So for the moment we’ve all been waiting for, we’d like to introduce Tap Truck 419 as our October 2024 Branch of the Month! We are extremely impressed by all the hard work and time the 419 crew has been putting into their business and we couldn’t help but to share their growth!
The skeletons of Tap Truck 419 are Nick and Sierra Yoder, whose story is brewed through their passion for craft beer. Nick’s entrepreneurial drive is what made the two to cross paths with the Tap Truck USA family. While always hunting for the next revolutionary business venture, Nick came across a Tap Truck USA advertisement on Facebook and began looking into the opportunity. After lots of research, he brought the idea to Sierra saying, “I finally found our business”! In late 2022, Nick and Sierra brought their passion for beer, community, and event planning to the Tap Truck Family and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see their growth thus far!
Tap Truck 419 brings mobile beverage thrills to the beautiful northwest Ohio cities of Toledo, Rossford, and Perrysburg. When getting started on their Tap Truck journey, Nick and Sierra were most excited about their opportunity to create unforgettable memories for the people of their community. We asked them what they were most excited about when bringing Tap Truck to their territory and they said, “Ultimately it’s about bringing people together and creating memorable moments and we couldn’t wait to be a part of that”! These two genuinely understand what it takes to foster community and create special moments for the people they serve and that is truly the Tap Truck family way!
Nick and Sierra’s adventure with Tap Truck is quite a unique story. As they were in the process of inquiring about the business they began envisioning what truck they would get, which they hoped would be a 1960 Ford F100. This vision came to life when they found their dream vintage truck for sale, but get this, it was posted by none other than Tap Truck 661! Almost like a sign from above they knew it was meant to be. The crew quickly added to their fleet with a Cushman Scooter mobile bar that boasts three taps and is great for those smaller events or even when you need some extra juice for the bigger ones! When we asked them about their struggles since joining the Tap Truck family, they noted that getting those initial events was difficult due to the lack of recognition in the area and content to share. Another struggle was getting over the long waiting period in the beginning, as a majority of events are planned out well in advance. As for their growth, let’s just say they have definitely gotten over that waiting period! Tap Truck 419 recently finished a new project that will allow them to add even more strength to their fleet, a Tap Wall! With three taps and compact construction this party booster is perfect for those cold winter events that are coming upon us! We are always ecstatic to see our licensees expand their mobile Tap Truck offerings and continue to grow throughout their journey!
Since hitting the pavement, Tap Truck 419 has made it a priority to support local breweries and offer their guests a taste of the best craft beers in the area. Some of their favorites have been Muamee Bay Brewing Co., Earnest Brew Works, Inside the Five Brewing Co., and Great Black Swamp Brewing Co. The Yoders also often recommend Brewing Green to their clients, which they have worked with to offer a new unique package, a make-your-own seltzer mobile bar! Using Brewing Green’s plain seltzer, they provide syrup flavoring that their guests can use to craft their very own seltzer flavor! Along with the relationships they’ve fostered with local breweries, Tap Truck 419 has also built and looks forward to building strong partnerships with local venues. One of their favorite and most popular venues thus far has been Arlington Acres, a beautiful white barn-style wedding venue! As their journey continues, Nick and Sierra hope to work with the Toledo Mudhens, a local minor league baseball team, the ProMedica, a well-known hospital organization, and, the Toledo Zoo! When we asked the team what Tap Truck events they get most excited for they said, “We love our weddings and being able to give the couple and their guests a memorable experience that will be talked about for years to come!”
While starting your business with Tap Truck USA has many benefits, one of the most significant for Nick and Sierra is the surrounding community of fellow Tap Truck owners and licensees all working towards the same goal, success. They have found that everyone in the Tap Truck mobile bar family is there to help each other out, whether it’s answering questions about the beer system, solving unforeseen circumstances, or even sharing tips and tricks. The Yoders stated, “We love how helpful everyone is! If you have any type of question or a problem that may arise you can always count on someone willing to help you! Everyone is so encouraging and just wants to see each other succeed”!
For those who may be interested in starting their own journey with Tap Truck USA, Nick and Sierra suggest focusing on building strong relationships from the beginning. Stating that “Networking with local vendors, event planners, and venues can lead to great business opportunities”. A second focus they suggest would be to invest in quality, from the truck itself to the equipment you use, noting that quality service leads to repeat business and that it all starts with your equipment. And last, but most importantly, they say you must bring your passion for events and hospitality, as it will “shine through and resonate with your clients and their guests”.
As this branch of the month feature reaches a blood-chilling close, we’d like to raise a goblet to our haunted Branch of the Month, Tap Truck 419! We are thrilled with the growth that the team has seen so far and can’t wait to unfold the eerie and exciting adventures that await! Here’s to Nick and Sierra Yoder of Tap Truck 419!
