Tap Truck Galveston - Branch of the Month November 2024

The season of giving is upon us, and this Thanksgiving we’re revving up to celebrate a branch that embodies the spirit of community and celebration. This month, we’re turning our gears to a branch that’s been serving up smiles and lifelong memories deep in the heart of Texas. Known for its coastal charm, warm hospitality, and vibrant community spirit, Galveston is the perfect place for Tap Truck to create everlasting memories. So, as we gather around to celebrate, we introduce Tap Truck Galveston as our November 2024 Branch of the Month! The dedication and passion the Galveston crew pours into their business is truly impressive, and we couldn’t be more excited to share their success!

The heart behind the wheel of Tap Truck Galveston is Shawna and Robert Boyett, who have always embraced the rich history, charm, and community the Gulf Coast of Texas offers. When Shawna first came across Tap Truck USA on social media, she knew it would be the perfect way for her to combine her love for entertaining with the nostalgic beauty of vintage vehicles. With the overwhelming excitement of bringing people together to create unforgettable memories, along with the unwavering support from friends and family, Shawna decided to launch Tap Truck Galveston in 2018 and hasn't looked back since!

Shawna states:

“The journey has been incredible. From restoring our first truck to pouring craft beers at local festivals, every step has been a learning experience. I take pride in offering a service that not only makes events special but also supports our local breweries and distilleries. The connections I’ve made through Tap Truck, both within the community and across the Tap Truck Family, have been invaluable. Being part of Tap Truck Galveston is more than a business; it’s a way to bring joy to every event, big or small, and I’m grateful to be able to do what I love while celebrating the vibrant culture of our area”.

With the help of their 1954 Chevy Panel Truck named, ‘Lady May’, Tap Truck Galveston brings a harvest of beverage cheer to the quaint Gulf Coast cities of Galveston, Texas City, League City, and Clear Lake Texas. When we asked Shawna what she was most excited about when bringing Tap Truck to her territory she said, “Galveston is all about fun, celebration, and community, and Tap Truck fits perfectly into that culture. I was excited to introduce something new and exciting that adds a unique touch to events, especially weddings and beach parties”.  She has done just that, from being a small local business to becoming the go-to service for weddings, corporate events, and private parties. Tap Truck Galveston is truly showing up for the Tap Truck Family!

Since hitting the scene, the Boyett’s have made it a priority to educate and participate with their local community. One of the biggest initial challenges the crew faced was informing potential clients of the uniqueness of their service. By investing in social media marketing and partnering with local vendors, Tap Truck Galveston was able to build a strong reputation for themselves in their area which has led to amazing opportunities for their business! Now, Shawna and Robert actively partner with local breweries, wedding planners, and event venues, while also participating in community events like charity fundraisers and food truck festivals. The team has built a strong relationship with Galveston Island Brewing, featuring their Tiki Wheat, Causeway Kolsch, and Citra Mellow IPA on tap for special events. They also work closely with venues like The Bryan Museum and Art-ober Fest and are pursuing partnerships with The San Luis Resort and The Grand Galvez for more extravagant opportunities. When we asked Shawna what events they get most excited to be a part of she said, “We love weddings, holiday parties, and local festivals. Mardi Gras events are especially exciting because of the high-energy atmosphere and creative drink requests”. Luckily enough for them, the areas Tap Truck Galveston serves see plenty of themed events, coastal weddings, and Mardi Gras celebrations that allow the Boyetts to flex their mixology skills!

While launching your entrepreneurial dreams with Tap Truck USA comes with countless benefits from custom truck builds to 24/7 consulting, Shawna and Robert have found the incredible sense of community within the Tap Truck Family has been the standout. They’ve experienced firsthand the support and camaraderie among fellow owners and licensees, all united by a shared passion for creating unforgettable moments. Whether it’s exchanging ideas, offering encouragement, or troubleshooting challenges, Shawna and Robert describe the Tap Truck Family to be a network of like-minded individuals who are eager to see each other succeed. “The sense of community within the Tap Truck Family is amazing,” Shawna shares. “It’s great to share experiences, ideas, and support with other owners who are just as passionate about bringing joy to their communities”.

For anyone who is on the edge about starting their own journey with Tap Truck USA, Shawna and Robert offer some valuable advice: “Go for it”! They emphasize that while the business is incredibly rewarding, success comes from putting in the effort to build strong connections and effectively showcase your unique services. By fostering relationships with local vendors, venues, and event planners, you can open doors to incredible opportunities. Shawna and Robert also stress the importance of creating memorable experiences for your clients and their guests, saying, “It’s all about creating moments that bring people together and having fun while doing it.” Their passion for events and community is evident, and they encourage new owners to bring that same energy to their communities.
